The Wesleyan chapel on Bridge Road opened in 1886, and had sittings for 800 people. It was constructed of brick with a slate roof and wood floor, and had two storeys. There were school buildings to the rear, which were opened in 1880, and enlarged in 1892. The school was closed in 1906, and the chapel and school building was sold for commercial use in 1963. The buildings no longer exist. {1}{2}
