Full Description

A building survey was undertaken on the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Mill Lane, Minting prior to development. The Wesleyan chapel is built of brick with a slate roof. Its current use as a tyre store means that most of the original internal features have been removed. It has pointed arch windows and doorway. {1} The chapel was first built in 1838 for the use of Wesleyans dwelling at Hatton. It was rebuilt in 1892 and closed in 1979, whereupon it was converted into a house. It is located just outside of Hatton parish due to the objections of the principle landowner in Hatton - the reactionary MP Colonel Charles de Laet Waldo Sibthorp, who objected to a nonconformist chapel being built in Hatton. {2}{3}{4}{5}
