Full Description

A human skeleton was discovered in January 1983, during excavations on land to the north of Scopwick. The remains were found at a depth of about 2ft, in the rough are of TF 067 583, although the exact findspot is not recorded. The skeleton was largely complete, though was missing the skull. The bones were taken for examination by the pathologist at Lincoln County Hospital, who determined the remains to be those of an adult male, measuring c.167cm (5ft 6") tall. There was some evidence of arthritis in the legs. No dateable finds or material was associated with the remains, which remain of unknown date. {1}{2}
