Full Description

The former Primitive Methodist Chapel on Fleets Lane was built in 1854. It is a small brick structure with a gabled front and possible traces of two round-arched windows above a pair of inserted garage doors. As a Primitive Methodist Chapel is mentioned in the census of 1851, there may have been a previous chapel on this site or elsewhere in the village. The current structure was still in use as a chapel in the 1950s, but was later partly in residential use, and now functions as a garage. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5} The former chapel was demolished in early 2018, to provide an access road for new housing on land to the rear of 5 Fleets Road. {6}
