Full Description

Former Wesleyan Methodist Chapel at Brigg Road. Built in 1879, of red brick with a gabled end, and pointed arch windows with intersecting glazing bars. It has an attached Sunday School of the same design, except for the window style. {1}{2}{3} The former chapel was the subject of a programme of historic building recording, conducted in May 2011 to inform its proposed conversion to residential use. Dating to 1879, the former chapel is rectangular in plan, and was built of red brick with yellow brick buttresses, eaves dentilation and plinth. It has a slate roof and stone-capped gables. The schoolroom is attached to the chapel's southern elevation, and was built in the same architectural style at some point before 1906. {4}
