Full Description

Keelby Methodist Church was originally a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel which was opened in 1867. It is constructed of red brick with yellow brick dressings, and a gabled front with four-light traceried window. It has uPVC windows in the side elevations. White's Directory lists the presence of a Wesleyan chapel within Keelby in 1856, suggesting the current structure replaced an earlier chapel, built somewhere within Keelby. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5} The chapel was designed by the Lincoln based architectural firm of Bellamy and Hardy, who placed an advertisement in the 6th of July 1866 edition of the Stamford Mercury, asking for expressions of interest from builders wishing to undertake the construction works. {6}
