Full Description

PRN 36569 98 trial trenches were excavated at Manor Pit, Baston prior to gravel extraction. Post medieval features including ditches, gullies and a large pit were uncovered which possibly relates to gravel extraction. {1}{2} During excavation at Baston Quarry in May and June 2009, Northamptonshire Archaeology revealed a post medieval field system. Two gullies which contained animal bone, a ditch which contained a 17th century coin, cow bell and a button and cattle watering pits which contained post medieval pottery. {3}{4}
