Full Description

A photographic building record was undertaken at the Coach House, Cherry Tree, Kettlethorpe prior to its conversion to a dwelling. Stylistically, the building appears to have been built in the late Georgian to early Victorian period, and served the adjacent rectory. It is constructed from handmade brick, with a slate roof and stands two storeys high. A wall plaque dating to 1874 can be found immediately above the stable doors, yet this is likely to be a later insertion. Another wall plaque dating to 1724 (pre-dating the coach house) can be found inside the building. This plaque is engraved 'Charles Hall, Rector. 1724' and probably comes from the rectory itself. {1}
