Full Description

PRN 55002 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundworks at The Cottage, Aisby, Corringham. The watching brief monitored the excavation of foundation trenches for a new dwelling and detached garage. The watching brief revealed a sequence of natural, subsoil and topsoil layers and a post-medieval pit was also identified. The pit measured over 1.25m wide, greater than 0.50m deep and contained three fills. The pit contained pottery dating to between the 17th and 18th centuries {1} 2}
