Canal side warehouse, built about 1790 in red brick. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} Jacksons Warehouse was assessed by English Heritage in May 2013, as part of the Louth Defined Area Survey, resulting in an amendment to its List Entry Description. Jacksons Warehouse, formerly known as Seymour and Castle Warehouse was built c.1790 following the completion of the canal in 1770. The warehouse is of two storeys, plus attic, and 10 bays wide, built of red brick with a roof of 20th century pantiles, raised coped gables and a single truncated gable stack. It was originally used to store a range of local produce, primarily wool and grain, before they were shipped down the canal to Tetney Lock and along the Humber to Hull and beyond. In exchange, coal, fruit and vegetables would have been imported. The building was converted into a single private dwelling in c.2003.
