Full Description

Ridge and furrow was identified from aerial photographs. {1} The ridge and furrow was recorded during an earthwork survey, undertaken in January 2014. The survey identified two distinct groups of parallel linear earthworks, set roughly 6m apart. Both groups of earthworks were aligned on the same north-west to south-east axis, indicating that the two sets were once part of a single system of medieval strip farming. The earthworks are not greatly defined, with the distance between the adjacent ridge and furrow rarely exceeding 0.3m. Later activity has also detroyed most of the earthworks in the centre and north-west of the field. {1}{2}
