Eighteenth century shop, rendered with a wood eaves cornice and pantile roof. Two storeys high with a modern shop front in an earlier space. A building survey was carried out prior to proposed alterations to the building. The building appears to be mainly of one build, constructed in the late 18th century. However, a small area of different brickwork in the cellars suggests alterations in the Victorian period to install a new shopfront and provide access to the cellars from the street. The internal arrangements of the ground and first floors have been substantially altered, however the second and third floors retain much of their original fabric and have been mostly unaltered. Original features include the oriel windows on the first and second floors and a door on the second floor. There is also evidence, such as blocked up doorways, that this building has been linked to the two adjoining buildings. The businesses that have occupied the building since the 1870s are listed in various Directories and include a gunmaker and shoe manufacturer, seed merchants, an architect and surveyor and a café. {2}{3}
