Full Description

PRN 45533 Brewery marked on 1905 County Series Map. {1} A building survey was carried out at this site including a photographic record of the buildings as well as a historical account of the site's development. The site consists of at least six buildings and additions. The first known brewer at the site was William East in the 1840s, although some of the buildings may be older. The buildings have undergone many changes of use since their days as a brewery and the interiors have been much altered. The outer facades of the buildings contain features of interest, for instance the stone block street name ("MAIDEN ROW") and also the painted company name "T M Winch & Co'y", both on the Church Street frontage. {2}
