Full Description
63219
An iron rowel-spur was found in Navenby in 1961 and was presented to the museum. It would appear, from the evidence of effigies and brasses, that the rowel came into general use after 1300, and had almost universally replaced the prick-spur by about 1350. Some indication of the date may be found in the form of the terminals, which in this case is fourteenth century. {1}{2}{3}
