Full Description

PRN 13802 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during development on land at Caleb Hill Lane, Old Leake Commonside, Boston. The watching brief identified two undated deposits; a pond and a possible brine pit (tank). Although the date of the pond is unclear, it is similar in nature and fill to a medieval pond identified elsewhere on site. The brine pit is also likely to be medieval in origin and connected with saltern features identified in the area (PRN 13541). However, possible Saxon salterns are also known in the area {1} {2}
