Full Description

PRN 45520 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on land at Ormsby Road, Brinkhill. The watching brief identified a sequence of natural, subsoil and topsoil across the site. Two sherds of Middle-Saxon pottery were retrieved from the sub-soil. The sherds were of Northern Maxey-type ware, dating to between 680 and 870 AD. Although a small collection, the assemblage is of moderate to high potential, and may imply activity of middle Saxon date in the vicinity. {1} {2}
