Full Description
Early 19th century milestone on the A52, to the east of Kirton Holme. It is of painted ashlar limestone, rectangular in plan with a domed top. It is inscribed 'SLEAFORD 14 MILES' and 'BOSTON 4 MILES' in the respective side panels. The milepost was inspected as part of a condition survey of historic milestones in Boston Borough, conducted in early 2020. It was found to be in very poor condition at that time, having been largely destroyed, as if hit by a vehicle. Only fragments of the post remained at the time of survey. {3}
