Full Description

Early 19th century milestone on the A52, to the east of Kirton Holme. It is of painted ashlar limestone, rectangular in plan with a domed top. It is inscribed 'SLEAFORD 14 MILES' and 'BOSTON 4 MILES' in the respective side panels. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} The milepost was inspected as part of a condition survey of historic milestones in Boston Borough, conducted in early 2020. It was found to be in very poor condition at that time, having been largely destroyed, as if hit by a vehicle. Only fragments of the post remained at the time of survey. {3}
