Methodist chapel in a course lancet style, red brick but with a rock faced stone front. It was built as late as 1902. {1}
The chapel was visited in 2008. The present chapel, built in 1902 by John Wills, replaces an earlier chapel which was built by 1845 on the opposite side of London Road. It has been in joint use with the Anglican Church of St Peter and St Paul since the Anglican/Methodist partnership was established in Kirton in 1970. The rusticated stone front has a raised gable with stone copings and finial, 2 intermediate stepped buttresses and 2 terminal clasping buttresses with nook shafts, stone octagonal pinnacles and finials. The windows of the front elevation have stone hoodmoulds and stops. The central window, above the gabled porch, has 3 stepped arches. The tall central arch has 2 lights and geometric tracery. The other elevations are of red brick with stone keystones in the arches of the pointed windows and stone cappings to the buttresses.The leaded windows have green glass.
