Full Description
During metal detecting on a field to the west of Bassingham (but in Norton Disney parish), Roman coins and brooches were recovered. Field walking yielded a concentration of Romano-British pottery. {1}
Further Roman pottery was reported in January 1998 from this area (SK 9073 6001). The assemblage was comprised of mostly grey ware sherds but included one piece of colour coated ware. {2}
