Full Description

Early 19th century milestone at London Road, Kirton. It is a square post of ashlar limestone with a pyramidal top. It is inscribed 'BOSTON 4 MILES', 'KIRTON, 112 MILES TO LONDON' and 'SPALDING 12 MILES' on three of the respective side panels. It was found to be in a relatively good condition at that time, although some edge damage was noted. {3}
