Full Description

Lighthouse marked on the 1951 Ordnance Survey map. {1} There was no actual 'light house' on this site only the original farmhouse that, owing to its windows facing the North Forty Foot Drain, provided guidance to travellers along the drain. Locally the farmhouse was called as the 'Light House'. {2} Light House Farm (Light House), Holland Fen with Brothertoft. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard with L-plan range plus detached buildings to the fourth side of the yard. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Isolated location. Large modern sheds are located on the site. {3}
