Full Description

PRN 70371 Geophysical survey (magnetometry and magnetic susceptibility) was undertaken on a plot of land off Nettleham Road, Lincoln in advance of residential development. The aim of the survey was to gather sufficient information to establish the location and extent of any archaeological features within the development area. The survey identified a sub-rectangular enclosure, defined by a distinct linear anomaly enclosing an area approximately 53m by 38m with a possible entrance along the southern side. This enclosure appeared to contain a number of feint anomalies which may suggest sub-divisions or structures within the enclosure. Although undated, the enclosure probably dates to the prehistoric or Roman periods {1} {2}
