Full Description

Former school building at Church Street. Construction of the building started in 1854, with public subscriptions given towards the cost. The building is of red brick with stone dressings, and features a slate roof with stone copings. The new school replaced an earlier 19th century schoolroom, located adjacent to the Church of St Mary (MLI85913). The building is now in use as a private residence. {1}{2} The school is shown in a T-shape plan form on the 1905 OS map of the village. {3}
