The St Lazarus leper hospital was founded pre 1301. {1}
A Lazar hospital was founded on his lands in Carlton-Le-Moorland by Elias de Amundville (probably because his daughter was a leper, and he had seen and received great favours from the brethren of St Lazarus in the Holy Land during the third crusade), where the brothers of Burton Lazars were to maintain and clothe four lepers probably from 1180. {2}{3}
