Between March and November 1970, Roman pottery, a Romano-British quern, roofing tile, flue tile and a 4th century cross bow brooch were found at this location. {1}{2}
There was also a marked patch of stone and rubble along the side of the pottery scatter, this was restricted to the bed and bank of the car dyke, this could be suggestive of this material being thrown in deliberately. {2}
