PRN 45502 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the excavation of foundation trenches for three detached houses and two garages on land adjacent to Rectory Cottage, Back Lane, Wood Enderby. The first of these was a north to south aligned ditch, filled with a dark grey silty sand which contained fragments of 10th to 12th century pottery and a re-deposited worked flint (PRN 45503). A large sub-rectangular pit was situated immediately north of the ditch. This was at least 2.5m long, 0.60m wide and 0.35m deep. The pit was filled with dark grey silty sand that contained 11th to 12th century pot. {1}{2}
