An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on land at Main Road, Greetham. The watching brief monitored the excavation of foundation trenches for a new residential development and identified a large sub-circular pit measuring 1.30m long, 1.0m wide and 0.50m deep. A single fill of brown clayey silt was recorded which contained no finds or dating evidence. The pit lies below a post-medieval subsoil and may pre-date the deposition of that layer {1} {2}
