Full Description

PRN 62948 Kirkby Green. Post mill with 'midland type roundhouse; dated 1830, moved from Digby in about 1865, ceased work 1909, collapsed 1935. Parts of the trestle and the post are said to remain near the site.{1}{2} A post medieval cropmark enclosure to the east of Kirkby Green has been identified from aerial photographs.{3} A post mill with a datestone of 1830 which was moved from Digby in about 1880. The mill was dismantled in 1909 and collapsed in 1935. The mill had a round house of the North Midland type and four single shuttered 'patent' sails. {4}
