Full Description

Haven Bank Windmill, Wildmore. Probably dates from early 1800s and was raised by one floor in 1886. Was then little more than 30 feet high to the curb. Had a cap of a more 'flared' variety than other local mills, indicating it was older. Ceased towork in 1930s, its sails were removed in 1947, the cap and windshaft were subsequently removed. Initially had four single sided patent sails which drove two pairs of stones, one French and one grey. These stones remain as does the wooden upright shaft and clasp arm great spur wheel. {1} Haven Bank Windmill is a Grade II listed tower mill. It was built in the early 19th century from red brick. The three storey windmill is of a circular plan, with a battered base and brick corbelled top.
