62946 This tower mill bears the date 1854, however this date only applies to the upper 5 storey. The tower mill was built upon on original mill which dated from the early 18th century, this mill had two floors and four pairs of stones. The join between the old and new parts is hidden by a stage, however is given away by a change in the batter. In its rebuilt form the mill worked using 4 pairs of stones driven by 6 patent sails. In 1977 all that remained of the mill were the floors and an engine driven hurst.
