An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundwork associated with the construction of a new vicarage at Church Street, Spilsby. The watching brief found a large collection of pottery, glass and tile recovered from the excavated spoil. Analysis of the pottery has revealed several mis-fired vessels that may have derived from kilns known to exist at Bolingbroke (c.10km west of Spilsby) or perhaps from an unknown kiln site at Spilsby itself {1} {2}
