Full Description

PRN 62921 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during residential development on land off Station Road, Sleaford. The watching brief monitored the excavation of foundation trenches for 17 new dwellings. The watching brief identified natural deposits and three undated limestone filled pits. Immediately above the pits was a former topsoil and a series of dumped deposits. The origin of the pits and dumped layers is uncertain, but probably relates to gravel extraction or railway construction during the mid 19th century {1} {2}
