Full Description

The remains of a former Second World War resistance hide have been recorded as being in this vicinity. The structure was built for use by the British Auxiliary Units in the event of a German invasion. The hide consists of a buried Stanton type shelter with an attached Nissen style corrugated iron chamber. The main entrance is via a breeze block passage and shaft at one end of the shelter, although a secondary entrance is at the other end (now blocked). Brick division walls were used to divide some of the internal chambers. {1}{2}{3}{4}
