Full Description

Cropmarks of possible prehistoric activity to the south of Harrington, including the remains of former boundaries, pit, trackways and enclosures, identified on aerial photographs by the National Mapping Programme. {1} A well-defined complex system of magnetic anomalies was identified in this area in June 2011, during magnetometry survey along selected parts of the proposed Covenham Water Treatment Works to Boston Transfer pipeline. The anomalies were interpreted as the remains of ditched enclosures and pits and were thought to be characteristic of a probable former settlement site. {2}
