Full Description
Undated cropmark trackways, enclosures and field boundaries, located to the east of Somersby, have been identified from aerial photography. {1}
This complex of cropmarks has been interpreted as an example of a Romano-British settlement of nucleated form, with well-defined limits, that lacks the strict rectilinearity of villa sites. As such it is probably best regarded as a Roman farmstead, with part of its field system, forming an element within the wider Roman settlement pattern within the Lymn valley recorded as cropmarks. {2}
