Full Description
A post-Medieval earthwork quarry, located to the north west of Somersby, has been recorded as survivng as earthworks from aerial photography. The earthworks are also clearly visible on LIDAR imagery. {1}{2}
It appears to have been out of use by the time of the 1st Edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map, surveyed in 1887, and is labelled on that map as 'Old Quarry'. {3}
