Full Description

PRN 70340 An archaeological watching brief monitoring the excavation of a new sewer system, identified a probable medieval road surface and make-up on land adjacent to 64 Newland Street West, Carholme, Lincoln. The surface was present at a depth of c.0.80m and comprised frequent small limestone pieces mixed with light brown silty sand. Overlying the surface was a layer containing pottery and tile dating to the 14th century {1} {2}
