Full Description

PRN 23862 Systematic fieldwalking survey along the route of the proposed Spalding Energy Gas Pipeline recovered a range of artefacts from ploughsoil. The assemblage was almost exclusively post-medieval (18th to 20th century) in date; predominantly clay-pipe, clay building material (brick and tile) and a selection of pottery. The pottery dated to the 18th to 19th century can be linked with contemporaneous reclamation and subsequent agricultural use of fields around Weston towards the south {1} {2}
