The National Mapping Programme identified earthworks which are probably connected with medieval settlement in this area. The earthworks consist of crofts, ridge and furrow, dams, boundaries and a linear feature. The Map shows only the extent of these earthworks. {1}
The documentary history of the settlement from medieval times onwards has been extensively researched. {2}
