Full Description

Cropmarks of an enclosure of possible prehistoric or Roman date, to the north-east of Ketsby.Visible as an incomplete reatngular enclosure, defined by a single ditch measuring roughly 60m by 50m. Identified on aerial photography examined as part of the National Mapping Programme. {1} More recent aerial photography taken of this area clearly shows the enclosure previously identified, along with a second enclosure of similar size located to the immediate north-west. This second enclosure is sub-rectangualr in shape, with a possible entrance at its western corner, and defined by a single ditch measuring roughly 70m by 50m. {2}{3}
