Full Description

Cropmarks of a possible trackway of unknown date, to the south-east of Burwell. The cropmarks show as a discontinous curvilinear feature, defined by two ditches with a maximum length of 500m. Identified on aerial photography examined as part of the National Mapping Programme. {1} An extensive series of natural geological features and spillways are known to exist along the eastern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, including this area near Valley Farm. It is thought that these features are much more likely to be the result of that previous glacial movement and activity, rather than being of archaeological origin. {2}
