Full Description

PRN 44827 Archaeological evaluation (trial trenching) identified a large oval pit (c.10m in diameter). The pit was augered to try to establish its depth. At c.3m a pale grey silt was encountered. Although no dating evidence was retrieved, the feature probably dates to the post medieval period, and is likely to have been a clay extraction pit. {1} {2}
