Full Description

PRN 44825 A total of 53 trial trenches were opened along the route of the proposed Partney Bypass and adjoining areas. The majority of the trenches were located above geophysical anomalies and trends {1}. One of these trends proved to be a large, roughly northeast to southwest aligned boundary ditch which contained four sherds of medieval pottery, and residual sherds of Romano-British pottery, a single piece of tile and a single Neolithic/Bronze Age struck flint flake. It is possible that the ditch is associated with medieval land division {1} {2}
