This tower mill is dated 'I.G.R.1841' and worked by wind until the early 1930s, continuing by engine for a while after this. It was gutted and converted into a house in the 1940s and in this form remains today. There were four patent sails driving three pairs of stones, two grey and one French. A further two pairs could be driven by engine. The stones were on the second floor which formerly possessed a stage. The lower part of the iron upright shaft and the iron great spur wheel remain. {1}
Former tower mill, now house built in the early 19th century, extended sometime in the later 19th century, altered in the 20th century. Tall tapering tower of five storeys, constructed in red brick in Flemish bond and a flat roof not visible behind eaves corbel course. To the left is an added coursed squared limestone rubble block with pantiled roof having raised stone coped gables and single brick ridge stack. This building stands two storey's high and has a three bay front.
