Full Description

PRN 62790 Cropmark identified by the National Mapping programme, recorded as prehistoric but its location is very close to what are probable Roman cropmarks and Mareham Lane so they may also be associated with them. {1} West of Moor Farm a rectanguar enclosure with one rounded end and an entrance facing south east has been identified. Cutting across one corner of this enclosure a straight line traceable though several fields is a moden gas pipe-line. Identified from an air photo from June 1970.{2} Interpreted as a 'D-shaped' simple enclosure, dated to the late Iron Age to early Romano-British period.{3} The enclosure is depicted as a cropmark on aerial photographs.{4}
