A smithy is marked on the 1905 OS County Series, located on the junction of Newark Road and Blacksmiths Lane. The plan of the smithy buildings is similar to the plan of the present buildings on the site, although it is not known if the original buildings survive. The buildings were still used as a smithy in the 1950s. {1}{2}
