Full Description

A fine Neolithic polished stone axe was found in July 1966, on land near the River Witham, to the north-east of Norton Disney. The axe was of Group VI type, being made of a grey-green chert. It measured c.9cm long by 5cm wide at its broadest point, and was polished with gougings on the side and edge. It was found by a local farm labourer, and was given to Carlton-le-Moorland School, before being donated to Lincoln Museum. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
