Full Description

A Vickers Valiant B.1 aircraft, designated WZ363, crashed on land off Linwood Road, on the 6th of May 1964. The aircraft was coming in to land at RAF Binbrook, but dived into the ground following an overshoot at night. All five of the crew members on board were killed in the crash. A plaque commemorating the crew members is located near to the crash site, on the platform at Market Rasen Train Station (see MLI53632). The recovery of the crash debris uncovered Roman pottery sherds and coins (see MLI52736). {1}{2}
