Full Description

17th century building with 19th and 20th century alterations and additions. Constructed in stone with a mainly rendered and whitewashed brick front. It has a plain tile roof with gable stacks and wooden gutters. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1} During renovations of the building the south part of the building was recovered revealing the cellar. The cellar consisted of limestone block masonry which acted as the foundations. The back wall collapsed just before the works began, this was also constructed from limestone blocks. Some of stones were worked and showed signs of in-situ burning, these worked stones are likely to be from an earlier high status building of about 12th century in date. The watching brief also revealed that beneath this building, there was a previous structure. {2}{3}
