Full Description

62573 A Dissenters Certificate of 1802 suggests that preaching was carried out in a house belonging to William Wright, just east of the later chapel. The first chapel was built in 1805 by William Lamb. A Wesleyan Sunday School commenced in 1810 in a large romm in Aubourn Hall, although it was later removed to the chapel. {1} The Wesleyans have a small chapel on Chapel Lane, which was rebuilt in 1845. {2}{3} The site was visited in 2009. The chapel of 1805 was rebuilt in 1827 and rebuilt again in 1845. It had an attached schoolroom. A new chapel was built in 1963 and closed in 1985. A modern house and garden now stand on the site.{4}{5}{6}{7}
